Reverend Dale Curry & Family

Dale has been the pastor since 1992.  He has served previously at Cave City-Highland and at the Salem Circuit in Franklin.  Deloris is a fourth grade teacher at Green County Intermediate.  Their daughter, Rebecca, is also employed by the Green County Board of Education.  Dale enjoys photography as a hobby and especially likes making pictures of athletic events in the Green County schools.  Dale is originally from Adair County while Deloris grew up in Green County before they met at Lindsey Wilson College.

Worship Leader Mona Milby: Mona began songleading at a very early age with the family Christmas tree as her congregation. Later, she moved on to cheerleading. However, as her joy in the Lord grew–along with her desire to be of any use to her Lord–there came a time when leading worship singing (cheerleading for the Lord if you will) was needed, both by Mona and the church. She is a lifelong product of GUMC and is happy to serve in this capacity as long as needed.

Choir Director Shellena Smith: Shellena has been serving at the church since November, 2007, and she and her husband became members in April of 2008. Shellena is originally from Fordsville, KY. She came to south-central KY through Lindsey Wilson College where she earned her BA in English & Christian Ministries and met her future husband. Music has always been an integral part of her life, as she grew up singing in the church & through school choirs, both general & competitive.  Through this ministry, Shellena hopes to share her love of God & music, allowing others to worship & offer praise through song.

Youth Leader Lindsay Landis:  Lindsay Landis was appointed to the position of GUMC Youth Leader in 2011.  Lindsay and her daughters, Mia and Abigail, are members of the GUMC congregation and are truly thankful for the love and support given by their church family over the years and during this new endeavor.  The Youth Group meets every other Sunday evening from 5-6 p.m. (central) and welcomes anyone from 6th to 12th grade to attend.  Currently, the Youth Group participates in numerous fun activities, outings, and occasional church skits.  Lindsay expresses what a blessing it is that God has placed her in this position and given her the opportunity to work with the youth to help foster a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ.

Wee-Believe Children’s Coordinator Mandy Goff:  Mandy Goff is currently serving as the children’s coordinator. She began attending GUMC about 8 years ago with her husband, Russ. They now bring with them two daughters, Claire and Caroline. Mandy shares: “I am blessed to be able to work with the children of our church ages preschool – 5th grade.” The children’s program, “Wee Believe,” meets the first and third Sunday night of every month in the basement at 5:00 for dinner, devotion, games, crafts and prizes. Mandy tries to incorporate Christian virtues and Bible stories in fun games and activities so that children can both learn and enjoy themselves in a Christian environment. The program is growing and thriving, so please join anytime! Wee Believe also learns songs and plays that the children perform on occasion during worship services.
